A New Definition for Investment
Though “invest” is usually a word associated with making money, for us the word means pouring into people’s lives and helping them to align with God’s purposes. People have gifts and influence, and by investing in people, we can be confident that we are investing in God’s work in Knoxville and beyond.
As together we nurture a community of both being and doing and walk a path of holiness and deepening intimacy with God, we “bring into flesh” God’s mission for the world. “Investment” is synonymous with incarnational living.
Our work and play shape becomes our partnership with God. God will certainly complete His work, and our investment strategy is built around these truths:
· God is at work in Knoxville and around the world.
· One way God works is through people in their realms of influence.
· Working alongside God means discovering our calls and making our contribution, both to the church and to our community: not only “on the hill,” but also in the city.
